This place is a must try Mexican restaurant if you are looking for an authentic experience. I would recommend you split a pound of lamb across 3 people.

Where else can you grab a ridiculously good barbacoa taco and a perfectly crafted matcha latte for breakfast? I’ll wait.

From the moment we walked in, we knew this would be a good meal. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. The food did not disappoint, with bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and excellent presentation. Our server was attentive, making sure we never had to wait for refills or service. The overall vibe of the restaurant was relaxed and enjoyable, making it a great place to spend the evening. We left feeling happy and full, already planning to return.

If we're talking about great food, delicious sauces and a specialty in barbacoa, Borrego de Oro is the spot. This particular location is special for being larger than the original, hence the better seating arrangement. Service is always friendly, although sometimes if busy it can be a little unorganized but they'll tend to your table promptly. You do have to take the waitress receipt to the counter and pay it prior to the meal. Make sure you do that otherwise your food won't be prepared. I especially suggest any of the barbacoa dishes, including the gorditas (my mother-in-law's personal favorites), green chilaquiles with asada and egg, sunny side up to pop the yolk and let it run down the tortilla chips and meat I'm telling you: this spot is a great place for a delicious meal.
